At CLOUD NINE CAMPING JAPAN, we will be making partial adjustments to our rental fee structure in line with a revised seasonal classification.
As a Growing Service, We’ve Gained Clearer Insights
CLOUD NINE CAMPING JAPAN officially launched at the end of April 2024, making us a relatively young camper rental service.
From the very beginning, we have designed our service not for domestic residents of Japan, but exclusively for travelers visiting from overseas. Guests from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and beyond—each with different languages, cultures, and travel styles—being able to enjoy Japan with peace of mind has always been at the heart of what we do. For this reason, we have consistently operated as a 100% inbound-focused service.
That said, in the early stages of our service, we simply did not have enough real operational data.
Our initial pricing and seasonal categories were based largely on general tourism assumptions—“this period will likely be busy,” or “this season should have higher demand.” In other words, they were launched as a temporary framework.
After About a Year and a Half, We Began to Understand the True Rhythm of Travel
Over the past year and a half, we have welcomed many travelers from around the world, and along the way, certain things gradually became clear.
For example, which periods tend to see concentrated bookings, which seasons place a heavier load on vehicles and camping equipment, and for overseas travelers in particular, when it is easiest to travel—and which times may seem calm but are actually quite crowded.
These were no longer just theoretical assumptions, but insights formed through a combination of on-the-ground experience and real data. As a result, we began to feel that our existing seasonal classifications might not fully reflect reality.
This Is Not a Uniform Price Increase, but a Redefinition of the Seasons
This adjustment does not involve raising prices uniformly across all periods.
Instead, we reviewed actual usage patterns, travel comfort, and operational load, and reorganized and redefined our seasonal categories based on these factors.
As a result, for periods with pleasant weather, a relaxed travel pace, and lower risk of overcrowding, pricing has been set to better match real conditions—making it easier to understand and feel comfortable with.
While the overall average price has increased slightly, we believe this reflects a shift from the “temporary balance” of our launch phase to a more appropriate structure aligned with actual usage.
Values That Remain Unchanged for Our Travelers
Although our pricing structure has been adjusted, the values we cherish and protect have not changed.
Allowing travelers from overseas to explore Japan at their own pace, without anxiety over language or procedures, remains our most important goal.
- Clear and easy-to-follow reservation flows, even for first-time visitors to Japan
- Equipment and guidance that provide reassurance, even for those with no camping experience
- Support available in English and Traditional Chinese to reduce language-related concerns
- Travel suggestions that prioritize enjoyment over rushed schedules
These elements form the foundation of a stress-free journey, and we will continue to carefully refine this foundation, step by step.
Where CLOUD NINE Aims to Be
We do not simply aspire to be a company that rents out vehicles.
Our goal is to become “To be Japan’s kindest rental car company.
”, quietly supporting you as part of your journey.
This seasonal adjustment is one such update, made to ensure we can continue delivering high-quality experiences consistently and sustainably, without compromising our standards.
Moving forward, we will continue to engage honestly with our operational data and make improvements whenever necessary.
